Rabbit and Hare

Although rabbit are far more numerous, both rabbit and hare are widespread across both the UK and Europe and indeed, right across the planet. It surprises many people that these meats are not more popular. As wild animals, they are probably more free of pesticides and herbicides than most domestic farm animals. This probably puts them into the naturally organic category. Their meat is very lean and, according to the pundits, contributes to a very healthy diet.

They, like the game birds, are hung for 4-5 days before being dressed and individually vacuum packed then strapped into corrugated cartons

Being wild their weights vary but their weighted averages are as follows:-

Rabbit - 700g (1lb 8oz)

Hare - 1.8kg (3lb 12oz)

We recommend that intersted buyers register their possible requirements well in advance of the season to avoid disappointment. Orders will be executed on a first come first served basis.
